Nice building, downtown Manhattan

All pens filled with Noodler's Black, except the Staedtler liner. I thought this was a beautiful doorway. It's down on West 4th not too far from the Blue Note Jazz Lounge.

Low Memorial Library

This is the famous Low Memorial Library at Columbia University. It was designed in a classical revival (Roman) style by Charles McKim of the famed firm of McKim, Mead and White. The library was started in 1894 and was completed a few years later. In the front it has a beautiful Bonze sculpture of Alma Mater by Daniel Chester French.

Boat in Mexico

I managed to paint a little while on vacation in Cancun. I was away with my whole family so finding time to stray away was difficult because of my nieves and nephews, but in the end I did a few paintings.

This is a nice scene I bumped into walking around the beach.

Oil City, Oceanside

I managed this in about an hour and twenty minutes. I wish I could have worked on it a little longer, but my friend and I were attacked by mosquitos, so we packed up and ran for the hills. I'm still happy with the outcome.

Perhaps it was serendipity that made the mosquitos attacked us before I pushed the painting too far.

Grisaille portrait

9"x12" oil sketch of a friend. Painting in Grisaille. I like where this painting is right now. I might continue another day, or not. I'm not sure, but I am happy with the way it looks as is.
