A little bit of Montreal

It's been a while since I posted, but in my defense graduate school is super time consuming. I am definitely not drawing or painting much these days, which is sad. I did get to take a trip to Montreal and Vermont over my spring break. I did a painting in Vermont and I did a few sketches in Montreal. I had much more planned out for Canada (as far as drawing goes) but the weather had other ideas. The first day I was in Montreal the weather was nice and sunny, so I did a little sketching (and it felt awesome). The next few days however were much much colder, and it rained, it snowed and there was definitely some hail as well. So no drawing outside. I did visit the Museum of Fine Arts of Montreal and I did a little drawing. The museum is beautiful, and it is a whole complex of 5 or  6 buildings that are connected by underground tunnels, which are crucial for those cold snowy days. So without further ado here are two of my sketches from my trip. Both are in Montreal, one is the church of St.George and the second is a view of the cathedral and some of the buildings that surround it. All in all my trip was excellent. The weather didn't hinder me much, only in drawing but otherwise I saw everything I planned to see and I did everything I planned on doing. So if you have a chance to visit Montreal you should do so. It's a very beautiful and lively city. I will post some photos of my trip as well as perhaps make a long overdue post about a secret hobby of mine.
